SPREE 2013 is themed ‘Play to Inspire’ with an aim to encourage sporting talent through the true spirit of sportsmanship. In the quest to bring out the competitive edge, SPREE offers a plethora of fiercely contested main events and special events alongside. Cricket is accompanied by Gully Cricket, Football by Futsal, Chess by anti-Chess and so on. In addition to this, there is an eclectic mix of off-beat events such as Pool, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, and Go-Karting. Also, for the first time ever, the Futsal tournament is going national with eliminations in 6 cities – Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Goa.
SPREE witnesses participation from colleges all over the country, even as far as Kashmir. With a projected participation of more than 1500 and a footfall of more than 30,000, SPREE 2013 is all set to take the country by storm.
In addition to the heart pounding on-field action, SPREE is defined by its Special Nights. Performers from across the globe have enthralled the audience with their adrenalin pumping performances such as Free-style Football, acrobatics, juggling, fire performances and many more.
As a highly socially responsible festival, SPREE 2013 launches – ‘Act to Inspire’ – a one-of-a-kind social initiatives campaign to inspire the society to contribute to itself. The campaign will include the 2013 edition of the prestigious SPREE Goa Half Marathon and a host of other initiatives.
SPREE in the past has seen celebrity involvement with Indian chess GM and Asia number 4 Krishnan Sasikiran, Chennai Super Kings Bowler Mr. Shadab Jakati, Mr. SK Sharma, Chairman of All India Carrom Federation (AICF), International Carrom Players: Maria A. Irudayam (two-time World Champion, Arjuna Award Winner), Yogesh Pardeshi (World Champion - Men), I. Ilavazhaki (World Champion - Women), bollywood stars like Aditi Rao Hyadri and musicians like Raghu Dixit.
Our campus, equipped with state of the art sporting facilities including world class Badminton courts, cricket and football fields, a dedicated futsal ground and volleyball courts, is all set to stage a sporting extravaganza of this magnitude.
