Rules

  • All players will play all rounds, a Swiss league event.
  • A college team should consist of a minimum of 3 and maximum 6 players.
  • Maximum time for a game will be one and half hour. If chess clock is available then 45 mins to each player otherwise we ensure to provide you clock after 70 mins of a game is over i.e. for the last 20 min of the game.
  • In case of tied scores, the progressive score will be counted for tie-break. In case progressive scores are also same, cut progressive will be used to resolve the tie. If the tie is still unresolved, A 5 min each tie breaker match will be played.
  • Winning team will be decided on the basis of addition of scores of its three best players at the end of the tournament.
  • In the course of the game players are not supposed to initiate any argument between them. If there is any claim, it should be done after calling the arbiter.
  • Agreed draw is allowed in the tournament.
  • All phones and pagers should be turned off in the tournament hall.
  • No talking and analysis in the tournament hall. 
  • Both opponents must press the clock with same hand that moves the pieces. If not, you may be penalised one minute, which will be added to opponent’s time (at Arbiter’s discretion).
  • In the case of any dispute or claim, the decision of the arbiter will be final and binding to all rules and regulations.
